The
press release...
Sports
from In My Backpack provide the heart of Hocking’s new
release, Title Town
New York (April 2017)
– Bob Hocking is excited to announce the release of his seventh
book, Title Town (and other tangents). A collection of sports
essays, it will be available in print and electronic formats on
April 18, 2017.
Sports-related material
has always been an important part of the In My Backpack web site.
There is a passion and excitement to be found in the subject.
Over the years, Bob has attempted to capture, with both fact and
opinion, all of these emotions and more over the years. And at
the heart of his efforts, he has managed to remain true to the
most important aspect of all: sports are supposed to be fun.
In Title Town, Bob
brings together as a single collection more than three dozen essays.
Most of them first appeared on his web site between 2003 and 2016,
and these have undergone careful review and editing for this project.
Also included are new efforts (“Is it a rivalry?” – “You can tell
the story” – “The myth of pressure” – “Epilogue”), most of which
have never been published previously.
A graduate
of Syracuse University, Bob was born and raised in Rhode Island.
He currently lives with his wife, Terry, in upstate New York.
