Led by Matt Ryan, Bruce in the USA is a talented
band featuring some simply brilliant musicians. He’s joined up
front by Matthew Sully and Dave McLaurin, with Joey Lunsford,
Atticus Finch, Danny Miranda and Jay Nichols rounding out the
group. (Danny had a scheduling conflict and wasn't on stage for
these performances. Mark Kotaska is the bass player here.)
They deliver a powerful… and quite honestly mesmerizing,
exhilarating and uplifting… tribute for Bruce Springsteen and
the E Street Band. (This is just my opinion, but -- having seen
Matt lead this band on several different nights and several different
stages -- having heard Dave tear through the phenomenal sax of
“Jungleland” -- having seen Sully and Atticus and Joey and Danny
and Jay -- it’s hard for me to believe there is another band out
there delivering a tribute even remotely close to this. These
guys are awesome.)
I would dare to say that the challenge of performing
what can best be described as legendary material… some would use
adjectives like historic and even sacred… is one of the strengths
and motivations for this band. They are quite serious about what
they do… and, focusing on some of the most important and well-known
material of the past fifty years, they do it very well.
